    Hello all,

I need to take 3 clep exams:

    US History II
    Humanities
    Principles of Macroeconomics

I just passed the Principles of Microeconomics by only studying instantcert.com. What would be a good source for these 3 tests. I would like to take all three within the next couple of weeks. I didn't know if Instantcert was good enough for all of these. I have taken Humanities before and failed it horribly.

The only one of the three I have taken to date is Humanities. I passed using a study guide found at www.passyourclass.com. It costs 32.00 and has a money back guarantee. It was helpful. I passed with a 54. She sells the guides on ebay for six bucks w/o money back guarantee too.

  3. If you were comfortable with your microeconomics result then you can use instantcert again for macroeconomics (which should be marginally easier).

If you search this site, or look at my site (see link below) you should find resources appropriate to help guide you.

I agree with jayncali - the eBay guide should be enough for you to pass Humanities, along with some help from Google.

    Cheers,
    Mark

I have taken both the US History II test and the Macroeconomics test recently. For the US History test I used only instantcert and for the Macro test I used instantcert plus the Barrons book. I didn't think that the Macroeconomics test was all that difficult and the only reason I used the book in addition to instantcert is because I had the book long before I ever found their site. The US History test I found to be a little more difficult but I still passed it (61). Like I said, I used mainly instantcert for this test. I also found www.u-s-history.com to be useful. I would say that if you understand the questions on instantcert fairly well for both of the tests you should have no problem.

If you can substitute Analyzing and Interpreting Literature for the Humanities you won't need a study guide. Both are 6 hours of credit. If you read well, you can just take the test and be done with it.

i am taking analyzing lit and regret taking humanities. if your good at memorizing names and matching it with periods and works, humanities is good for you.

I took analyzing lit and humanities. I used a REA study guide for analyzing lit as well as an REA study guide for History I. I took the humanaities and used the Comex book.

The analyzing lit and the humanites were both hard tests because they cover such a wide range of info. The study guides will help you pass.

  8. Interesting perspective. I looked at the REA study guide and found it too "hard" so I ended up just taking the sample test and left it at that. I found the Analyzing Lit exam the easiest so far (even easier than Here's To Your Health), but I'm an avid reader.

The difference between Humanities and Analyzing is that Humanities requires knowledge whereas Analyzing Lit just requires you to know the terms which you'll then use while reading exam passages. You don't have to know any specific literature before taking the exam.

    Mark,

You are right about the Analyzing Lit in that it does not require specific knowledge of books, writer, periods, etc. It is more of a little vocabulary test with other questions but it does require mostly an understanding of lit.

The REA study guide help me because it gave short stories, asked questions, and gave the answers. I felt this helped train my mind to think in an analytical fashion. By the way, I am not an avid reader.

Well I bought that humanities study guide off of ebay for $6 I have also been going through instacert. Hopefully by using both of those I will pass. They are going to give me conflicting information are they? I want to test on monday or tuesday.

Well, I passed humanities with a 54, not great, but it is a pass/fail, so it really doesn't matter.

Try "http://www.petersons.com/airforce/books.html" and click on the CLEP Success link for Humanities. You need Adobe Reader 5.0 or higher. You can't download the .pdf files, but you can print them and study the guide(s) online. I passed the Humanities exam and this guide helped. Good luck!

I have to write a book for my business, so I won't have any time to take any tests for at least a month. Next will be Macroeconomics, then US history II. Then I am done with Cleps, and just have to take 3 classes to finish my degree.
