    Hi,
I am curious if I am vain! I am about to complete my MBA (August), I have a BS degree, and I hold a professional certification. How do I list these, in order, if at all. Just going on my business card and/or my CV; whatever ya'll think is appropriate.
Don't want to be a jerk about it, but I am proud of the fact that I am the first one in my family to get a masters and I want prospective employers to know about it!
Anyway, I look forward to your thoughts.
    thanks, John Spies

    Like this

John Spies, BS, MBA, CPA (or whatever prof cred you hold).

Or, just use highest award thus:

John Spies, MBA...with or without the CPA (or whatever).

Don't make a big deal out of this. Internationally, this is how most people would put designations on a business card.

    Re: Like this

In the U.S. it would be very unusual to list both the BS and the MBA. Traditionally, only the highest degree is listed. Now, if he has some sort of professional certification that is relevant, it would be reasonable to include that.

    My card reads as follows:

Michael G. Lloyd, MBA, CPCU, ARM, CPHRM
    Director of risk management

This lists my highest relevant degree and the pertinent insurance and risk management professional certifications. I do not list my MSc insofar as it is in a field irrelevant to my current profession as a healthcare risk manager.

Thanks very much. I suspected as much.
Will let everyone know when I get the mba. Turning in my last module assignment on Monday and start the dissertation. Submitting that in mid-August.

My personal opinion is that the designation of your MBA would be good on a business card. For example:

    John Doe, MBA

I personally feel that the other certifications and designations are unnecessary. If you are an insurance agent and did earn licenses or certifications, this would just come with the territory. However, the Master of Business Administration (MBA) would be right in my view. This is a degree based upon hard work and determination. Also, with regard to Bachelor and undergraduate degrees, this seems to me to be unnecessary.

Hope this helps. Good luck with your dissertation!

In regards to listing degrees, credentials, licenses, certifications, etc., on a CV, what comes first?

    Example: John Doe, RN, MS

    or John Doe, MS, RN

I always thought the highest credential or degree is listed last on this alphabet soup.
