Currently I am a Ph.D. student in Business Administration at TUI. I am currently enrolled in the second research course Research Design and Fieldwork. The course includes modules, which cover different research activities. One of my issues is that I completed the first research course Introductory Data Analysis out of sequence in my program about 2 years ago. I only have these next two research courses left before my proposal class begins. So, frankly I am really lost since most of the earlier material has been forgotten and am having difficulty understanding some of the assignments and SPSS use. Research Methods is NOT my specialty. I am looking for assistance and help. I appreciate any advice in my situation. Thanks

    Research stuff

I understand your pain. I am a doctoral learner at Capella. Thank God I am done with all my stat and research courses.

Here are some ideas you can explore for help:

    1. Your own school's network of students and mentors

    2. Your local university (find out who does the stats for professors and then take them out to lunch to set up a consulting relationship. A math grad student might also be helpful. You might be able to get them to train you.

    3. There are audio-visual materials on SPSS.

    4. There are many internet based tutorials out there on SPSS.

    5. There is a wonderful Newsnet Newsgroup (free via your internet provider) that you can look up that is SPSS specific) It even has the title "SPSS" as part of the group name. You can do a Newsgroup search from your "Read News" drop down menu on MS Explorer Toolbar. I recommend this last one.

I hope this helps a little.
