The Greenwich University website at http://www.greenwich.edu has been down for so long now - not even an 'under construction' page, which disappeared some time back. Has Walsh of Brannagh finally given up an stuck with being a barrister? Cheers, George
Hello friends, sorry about my English. If the institution of higher education (Greenwich) is closed forever, what would happen to all the people that have Masters and PhD from Greenwich University?
The entire story seems almost terminally complicated, and different views are being offered by different participants, especially John Walsh of Brannagh and the short-term and now-departed president Norman Pearson. While Pearson has never responded to my questions, he did communicate last month with a concerned Greenwich alumnus, and 'revealed' that everything that was Greenwich -- student records, furniture, files -- were in a storage facility in Hilo. When this student called the facility, he was told that on April 1, they would be trashing everything, due to three months of unpaid rent. When I communicated this to the committee of (former) Greenwich faculty, who have been working to try to save things, they were angry, upset, and alarmed, and took immediate action to pay the bills and preserve the archives, while they continue to try to figure out what to do. At the very least, their intent is to make the Greenwich archives available, just as is done with most or all of the 15 to 30 colleges and universities that go out of business each year: either storing they with a state agency or with a more stable other university.
I wish PEARSON or Person In-Charged can reply to this discussion in order for Greenwich Students(worldwide) continuously support the comeback of the University.
