    Hey Everybody,

Was just looking around online this morning and came across a BSL at Northwestern California University School of Law. I did go ahead and check the FAQ's and NWCU was very honest about it's accredidation. They are not regionally accredited. They are listed as accredited with two different agencies, as well as registration with the California State Bar.

I'll be honest here. I like the looks of the BSL. :) But, I still think the degree from Excelsior will serve me better. HOWEVER, speaking of Excelsior.... Under the Admissions link for NWCU, I went to Pre-Legal Education. There, you will find a good deal of information about Excelsior and the Credit-Bank Service they have (as well as the toll-free and long-distance) numbers to the College and a link to the website.

    That link is: http://www.nwculaw.edu/admissions_education.shtml

Just wondering, does Excelsior accept credit from NWCU?

I had always wanted a law degree (whether it allowed me to practice or not -- it's just an area of interest) and, if at some point, I decide I still want the degree but don't want to practice, that school looks much more attractive than the $28,000 plus to earn the degree from Concord Law School.

Excelsior probably would not accept any NWCalU credit.

No accredited school is likely to recognize the NWCalU B.S.L.

HOWEVER, I am myself quite enthusiastic about people earning unaccredited Bar qualifying J.D. degrees and then passing the Bar because I think that a law license is a valuable, recognized credential in its own right, however earned.

There have been rumors for years that accredited ABA law schools will accept lawyers into their LL.M. programs even without accredited J.D. or LL.B. degrees, mostly on the strength of their law licenses. The University of London certainly says so.
    Good luck!

While they do not say so, the inference from the NWCalU page that was referenced is that the BSL is not acceptable for admission to the JD program (bar track). While 60 credits earned through TESC, COSC, or Excelsior are sufficeint.
