This is on behalf of a friend who is looking for an online MBA program.

    His criteria look like this:

Cheap (less than about $13000 tuition)
    RA

    Pretty much in that order.

Strong preference for a school with a physical campus.

I have suggested that he look at Bellevue University and Baker College. CSU DH is not a good fit for him because while he does have an undergraduate business degree it is more than 10 years old and this leads to the qualifying program which increases cost and time to gain the degree. Amberton is not good for him because they will not consider him with a Canadian undergraduate degree (he checked).

He might look at overseas programs, but the preference is for US based.

If there are any schools that fit this profile besides Bellevue and Baker he'd be pleased to know. I haven't been able to come up with any others.

    Thanks

Already ruled those two out? What does he expect? If those two or ruled out then he may have to settle for a nationally accredited degree (such as Ashworth) or skip over "MBA" and pick up "MLS" from the likes of Fort Hays State.

Just wanted to make sure I hadn't missed anything!

Seriously, though, thanks for the feedback.

I will, however. recommend that my friend check CSU DH again, as it is a bit less expensive than I thought, so the qualifying program may not be a killer if he's willing to put in the exra time.

Amberton is ruled out because basically they don't accept non US undergraduate degrees.

    University of Wyoming MBA

The University of Wyoming is moving its DL (previously video and tele-conference based, and only available in Wyoming) MBA program to a web-based format available nationwide starting this fall. The UW MBA is AACSB accredited and regionally accredited, and as a UW Business Admin undergrad (graduating this August), I will vouch that the school's courses are both rigorous and relevant to someone who wants a better understanding of business and management.

The program's tution will not be announced until the curriculum is finalized in May. However, other graduate programs at UW have a $142 per credit hour tuition, plus online courses delivered by eCollege.com usually carry a $40 per credit hour technology fee. At $182 per credit hour times the expected 36 hours for a masters, I would imagine the degree will cost around $6552, which looks to be well within the budget you specified.

The director of the MBA program at UW is Dr. Kenton Walker. You can reach him via e-mail at [email protected], or by telephone at (307)766-2449, or toll-free at (800)448-7801.

Good luck in your search for an MBA program!
