Transfer credit obtained in one University by challenge exam to another university?

Would a student be able to transfer credit obtained in one University by challenge exam to another university? In other words lets say I take the challenge exam for english 101 from ABC university. Would I be able to transfer these credits based on the challenge exam to say TESC?

 

why through challenge exam ? why not transfer directly if both courses are similar in content
