    Message from the Vice Chancellor:

    Dear Colleagues

I am very pleased to inform you that the Division of Business and Enterprise has secured accreditation from the european foundation for management development (efmd) under its European Quality Improvement System (EQUIS).

EQUIS is one of the two major international forms of accreditation for business schools; the other is run by the Association for the Advancement of Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) which is based in the United States.

The Division chose to apply for EQUIS accreditation as the European system stresses many things which are important to the University of South Australia, including internationalisation, diversity and links with the corporate world. The efmd also offers opportunities to its member organisations for learning, development and strengthening of collegial academic relationships.

International accreditation is becoming very important in attracting business students. The Division is only the second business school in Australia after Curtin to achieve EQUIS accreditation and the first to have its offshore operations accredited.

I congratulate all the staff and students of the Division for this achievement. I also congratulate and thank Kevin O'Brien, who initiated the accreditation application; Max Bessell who project managed the process for development of the application; and staff from other parts of UniSA who provided support and advice during what was a lengthy and complex process.

    With best wishes

    Denise Bradley

A very good achievement. And pleased to see that their 'off shore' programs came under the accreditation process. This is an area where many universities are vunerable.
