I just had a very interesting experience when I was on the phone with Amberton University yesterday. I wanted to find out more detailed information about their distance learning MBA program. I was told that if I want to get accepted into their distance learning MBA program I would have to do the following things.

    1. Spend six months at a US MBA program and then transfer into their MBA program.

    2. Get a US visa. When I was told this I actually had to restrain myself from bursting out laughing. I think this is really crazy. I was accepted into DL masters programs at other schools that are a lot more well know and respected then Amberton and non of them told me I will need to get a US visa. I don't understand why I would need a US visa to do a program thats 100% by distance learning. Even if I would have to come to the US a few times it would be no problem. I usually travel to the US 4-6 times per year using my Canadian citizenship card and I never once had any problems.

I got off the phone thinking that the people making the rules at Amberton University must be on smoking something.
