Do TUI classes seem to be getting harder?

I am in the last two classes of my MS-ITM at TUI. MKT 501 and ITM 505 and I have gotten teh grades back from my first paper for each course. IN MKT 501 I got a "B+" and in ITM 505 I got a "B".

The quality of work as been the same as ever other course I have taken and I have gotten all A's and a few A-'s.

Am I just burnt out and turning in anything or has anyone else noticed this? By the way, I no longer have GA's, I have PhD's reviewing my papers which I am sure has something to do with it.

If my memory serves me correctly, I believe that the regional accreditors told TUI to "tighten up" its doctoral programs -- and it is probably having a trickle-down effect into all of their programs.

I completed MKT501 last term and I can tell you it was by far the hardest course I've seen--I've taken nine so far. Dr Wollan's background materials are so extensive that it is difficult to expand on on each of the important points she presents in a single 6 to 8 page paper. All I could muster was an "A-" for the course, which blew my aspirations of completing the degree with a 4.0 gpa.

I though it was just me. I have found myself finishing a paper and having to cut some material out because it is so long. The background material for each module takes me longer to read than almost all the background material for any other course.

I believe this TUI is Touro and that TUI was Union.

So that explains why a TUI search in Google brought me to Union. I was totally perplexed when it did that. I expected "TUI" to bring me to Touro University International.

At Union, what does TUI stand for?

I've had Dr. Wollan for a class and she pretty rips you apart, but its constructive and its really helps in the end, especially in the dissertation phase. Yeah, I got the APA format beatdown and academic writing style whipping, but now I can do it in my sleep and all I can do is thank her.

    SLP changes

I'm in the PhD program and have noticed that the SLP course work has now changed to a long format. It used to be that the SLP's seemed to be an after thought (5 short papers).

Now they've been combined in all my classes to stretch them out to one long project of 15 - 20 pages, with component requirements throughout the quarter.

I've also gotten the research paper style 'ass-whipping'... Kind of felt good.

Well, if anything, you reminded me why I would never in 700 myriad years EVER consider going for a Doctorate. :p

Just think of how many languages I could learn with the same time and effort and GASP, how much less money I would spend :D
