    Hey Group,

I just noticed on one of the news stations that several teachers turned in their resignations after being "caught" with degrees that had been earned on the Internet with accredidation from Liberia - or degrees that had simply been purchased. The news man said, "the accredidation from Liberia is not recognized accredidation." Are they talking about the St. Regis University that is so often discussed here? The report then went on to say that eleven more teachers across the state had been caught (or were being investigated) for diplomas at the Master's and Doctorate level that were phony.

Another question about degree mills - is Clayton College of Natural Health a diploma mill? I'm in no way interested in this school (I'm not interested in those subjects), but I was at a website that was offering information on the "best" places to earn a degree online. Clayton College of Natural Health was listed alongside universities that are respected, like AIU Online, Kaplan and Capella (and University of Phoenix, too). But, the website noted that Clayton College of Natural Health was not associated with any of the government accredidation agencies, but was accredited by the American Association of Drugless Practitioners, and the American Naturopathic Medical Certification and Accredidation Board. Then, whenever I tried to click on the link, I kept the getting the "Link Cannot Be Found" message. But, YOU DO COURSEWORK! The accredidation isn't in Liberia, so is there, for some reason, different accredidation agencies for medical schools? I wouldn't really think there would be because the nursing degree at Excelsior is regionally accredited. Is it a diploma mill or isn't it? I'm confused! If I've learned any thing since I've been here, it's been not to trust Liberian accredidation and degrees offered completely through life experience. But what about CCNH degrees?

www.cnme.us is the web site of the Council on Naturopathic Medical Education (CNME).

Last ime I checked, CNME was back in the DOE's good graces as an accrediting body. No U.S. Naturopathic Medical School is accredited unless these folks have blessed it as far as licensure is concerned.

I have read that no state that regulates naturopathy will license Clayton graduates. I could be wrong. Note that few states actually license naturopathy so the degree, although definitely not accredited by any recognized accreditor, may have some usefulness.
