I don't know what to do. I enrolled in The University of Phoenix. I have 50something to go for my bachelors. It cost $1300 per 3 hour course. I'm on my second course and the instructor quit. I don't have an academic counselor.
I think I may have made a big money mistake. I've searched through this forum and am even more confused. I wish I knew if I'm doing the right thing.

Do you have an enrollment advisor or is there a Dean of your particular program? If "Yes" to either or both, I 'd contact one or both of them.

There must be cheaper options elsewhere. University of Phoenix is Regionally Accredited, so you will get transfer credit for the courses you've already taken.

What do you want to major in?

which campus are you attending? or are you doing the on-line only? I know a few people in Houston and one in Dallas that may be able to help you.

There are many alternatives to UoP if you are taking the online program. What is your major?

Thanks for replying so fast. I contacted the "team leader". They assured me that this has never happened before. I was also assured that we would have a new facilitator assigned. It hasn't happened. I also was told that they will not cancel the class. I think this is garbage. If they want to keep me as a student they will take me out of this class with no charge and let me re-take it. I don't think they will let me.
I'm going for my bachelor's. I have almost two years of credit from various state schools.

Have a look at Lawrie Miller's BA in 4 weeks site www.bain4weeks.com and Gus Sainz's list of DL business degrees http://collegedegrees.tripod.com/

I have to admit I don't understand why people pay UoP so much when there are AACSB schools in Gus's list that are charging half as much.

I believe that most who attend UOP just don't know about the other (better) options. I certainly didn't when I applied for and started a program at an ACICS accredited residential school. For me the choice was (or I thought the choice was) between the full-time day program at USU (which I couldn't attend because of employment obligations) and the accelerated night-time format of the ACICS school. Even with the NA school charging >$1000 a class vs. <$300 the USU (the superior school, obviously ;) ) was charging, I choose the only school that fit my schedule. LOL Ramble, ramble on. Sorry.

Anyway, I believe that the biggest cause of choosing an inferior school is ignorance about the options available. Another reason might be accelerated time to completion. A third reason could be that the student wants an easier degree path.
