    Rosie's Psychology Degree

    Hi Mark,

How many classes did Rosie take to earn that degree, or did she earn the majority through testing? I had also thought about Psychology, but right now I had rather just test out, if possible. I would love to try on the GRE, but for some reason that test SCARES me. :)

Rosie has never taken a Psychology course in her life. She is fulfilling the Psychology major through self study and testing out.

She has taken many courses (both online and brick-and-mortar) in other subjects, though. She also has five years of brick-and-mortar teaching experience. (For four-and-a-half of them, she was a full-time lecturer teaching English at a university in Mexico.) But this will be her first degree.

Yesterday afternoon, Rosie started studying for "Foundations of Gerontology". We're less worried about this one, because it seems to have a lot of overlap with "Psychology of Adulthood and Aging", which she already took, and "Gerontology" has a much higher military pass rate.

Rosie says her best advice is: "Don't stay up cramming the day before the exam (or any exam). It's better to wake up earlier in the morning and review (not cram) general terminology. Your brain can only take so much information at a time; cramming only confuses you. Force yourself to have breakfast, even if you feel too nervous to eat, but avoid food that takes a long time to digest. Don't get nervous; we're all adults here, and your mom is not going to hit you or yell at you..." (long psychological analysis deleted).
