    Dear Friends,
I’m a new member . For the last two months , I have been reading through the posts. Must have read more than 25 pages. Your names are now so familiar to me. I like the friendly atmosphere. Especially, this came out so vividly , for example, with all the fraternal embrace that all of you gave to Christie when she got accepted at Grenoble DBA.
I also want to study for a DBA but is in a dilemma between the Newcastle (Australia)DBA, the Charles Sturt DBA and the Unisa DBL. I want your assistance on this.
The Newcastle DBA mentions that it is 2/3 coursework & 1/3 research. Without the MBA content does it not come to 50-50. Also with so many coursework elements, does this mean that the thesis part would be less “ intense”. I know one member is on this DBA.

How about the CSU DBA? I understand Humbug in on it. Could I have some more info, especially on the coursework part, whether there is an exam. I could not find such info on the web.
I am also intensely exploring the Unisa DBL, because it is affordable to me. John Fracarro seems to have some bare info. This DBL is the one where I have the least info on the web. John mention 75 books to read for the first year. I have no indication how the exam would be, nor the subjects nor the titles of the books. Is there any member on the Unisa DBL?
I shall be grateful for your esteemed assistance.
    Ardee.

    Isn't angela in the DBL?

I think angela is in the DB:. I don't know if she hangs out here anmore though. May be too busy reading her books for her studies! The UNISA DBL is definately a great value for the money, however, I think it will take a couple of trips to SA to finish it so you may want to factor that into your costs.

    Hello,

Regarding CSU, it is half coursework and half dissertation. But, as part of the "coursework" you take research methods and other dissertation prep classes. They are all focused including a literature review and dissertation proposal as part of the first two years. There are no exams to speak of.

Support has been good. The only hiccup was an early change in advisors but since then I've been very happy with him. They are supportive and want to see you succeed and are not there to torpedo your efforts.

You do a full dissertation and not a project. They are also concerned about the quality and that it meets or exceeds those of other uni's.

Any other questions, please let me know
