    I've enrolled at COSC!

I almost went Excelsior last week but I'm glad I waited.

I only need to write my concentration essay (already outlined) and find 6 hrs. 3 hours in any hard science other than Physics plus 3 in any academic area.

Less than half of what Exceksior wanted.

    My question:

I'm looking for the least expensive and easiest to study for hard-science test out there, and I'm counting on you for suggestions! Suggestions from those of you who have been testing like crazy and know them all like the backs of your hands.

The only science I've ever really enjoyed is Physics that's why I took it when I needed a basic 3hr science course. I think biology might be the next most understandable for me, I HATED chemistry in high school! (Actually I THOUGHT I'd love it before I took it, but I just didn't get it!)

So guys and gals, what test do you recommend for me? DANTE, CLEP, TESC, ECE or others? Which science subjects did you find easiest to study for? What books do you recommend for which test?

I've never tested for credit before so be gentle with me!!! (I have a sneaking suspicion I'm going to like it though!)

    THANKS TO ALL IN ADVANCE!!!

Well, I haven't taken any science tests (not since my pre-reqs in nursing anyway) but I have to agree with you that the biology would be much easier than the chemistry would be. The lady on ebay, Xenia, has a study guide for the clep biology. For 5 or 6 bucks and a money back guarantee, I think that would be what I would look at. Biology just makes sense to me, seems like more a soft science than does chemistry. Good luck with whatever you do.:)

The CLEP general test in natural sciences would be the easiest (it's pretty easy) if they (COSC) would accept it. Also, even though it is a 6 credit test, you would probably only receive 3 credits, since you have 3 credits in physics.

    For my education...

What is a "hard" science? Is there such thing as a "soft" science? Where do subjects like Astronomy, Geology, Meteorology, Archeology fall? Is meta-physics considered a science?

    Just asking...

    HARD V. SOCIAL

The sciences you mention are all hard sciences except metaphysics which I'm not sure of but I think it is considered more of a philosophy and therefore a social science???

Social Sciences include Psychology, Sociology, Political Science, etc.

Let me add Oceanography -- my course was very easy but extremely interesting and informative.

    Thanks to all who responded!

COSC will take the CLEP in Natural Science to complete all requirements! They will allow all 6 hours which is all I'm lacking for my Bachelor's degree!

I've matriculated and will schedule my CLEP for about four weeks from now.

THANK YOU again to ALL the great folks on this forum!

You have no idea what a great contribution you are making and how many people you are helping by ASKING QUESTIONS and by sharing your knowledge and expereinces!

I know that as many folks as post here daily, there are many, many more who never post but come here daily just to read and find directions for thier own journey!
