I did not take those exams but I did take the General Humanities for 6 credits. I used the Comex study guide and it was OK.

I took West Civ I and passed with a 73. I used World History for Dummies, Atlas of World History, the Comex book and the CLEP guide.

I took this not too long ago. Here is what I posted in my thread "Finally finishing a degree". Other online sources that would be of help are www.sparknotes.com and www.pinkmonkey.com. Good luck.

Well, I'm back from Western Civ I. I was somewhat worried about this one, as it covers such a broad timeline.

In addition to a college textbook that I used, I found some practice tests and a study guide online at Houghton-Mifflin. This was helpful, but it also worried me, as the questions were rather hard. I'm happy to say that the CLEP exam wasn't nearly as hard.

    I scored a 72. For Excelsior, I only needed a 50, as this one is a pass/fail.

I've taken Western Civilization II, and I used a book on European History I bought at Barnes and Noble. I used "An Illustrated History of Europe" by Frederic Delouche, which is, unfortunately, out of print. If you can find a used copy of the most recent (2001) edition, I think you'd be set for both exams. I'd offer to sell you mine, but my sister is currently using it.
