Hello all. This is my first post.

After I obtain a Bachelors from Excelsior College I am considering the MBA from Edinburgh Business School. My question to those how do hiring is:

    1) How would you look at the EBS MBA?

    2) How important is it that a MBA be AACSB accredited?

    3) Does the AACSB even matter if it is from a school that is not ranked highly?

    Thanks for your time,
    Travis

What are you wanting to do with the degree, I think that variable will make a difference in the answer.

I would like to get into a finance or accounting job. Right now I am a manufacturing Technician, and I don't want to do it anymore.

There have been many, many debates on this, so you may want to do a search, but here is a recap.

Most employers don't even know what AACSB is, some do, but they seem to be the exception. As long as you go RA, you should be OK. If you want an employer to reimburse you through the process, ask to see the reimbursement policy to make sure that your work is covered. (Even ask up front).

US employers have looked down upon foriegn degrees at times, not based on merit, just ignorance. It depends on the degree and the employer I guess.

AACSB is the "gold" standard, but most employeres (outside of academia), in business think the silver standard of RA is just fine.

You may get the DL stigma, but that is a whole different debate.
