I mailed in my application to CSU for the UNA MBA 3 months ago. I called CSU about 6 weeks ago and asked if my application and transcripts had arrived and they told me that they have received all the information and that I should hear from them in about a week. About 3 weeks went by and I still did not hear anything from them, so I called again and was told again that I should hear from them in about a week. So once again I called them today and got the same story. What the F**K is their problem? I was really interested in their MBA program, but now I am really pissed off because I feel like they are giving me the run around. Did anybody else ever have this problem? What should I do?

    Bo,

This is definitely annoying. But there may be a reasonable explanation. Having once been in academia, I can attest that committee meetings can get delayed for a variety of reasons. There may be issues beyond the control of the Admissions Committee that are preventing them from holding a meeting to make a decision on the applicants.

It's especially annoying to be told that they will know within a week, and then when that week is up the answer is not there. It is possible, though, that they are giving their best estimate when they tell you the decision will be ready in a week.

You might try explaining how many times you have called and been put off for an answer, and ask if they can describe what the procedure for making the decision is.

I wouldn't necessarily make the conclusion that your academic interactions with the school will experience the same sorts of delays as this administrative issue, since the people involved may largely be different individuals.

Hope your acceptance notice comes soon,

    Alex

    UNA

    Bo:

I understand that UNA and UWA both work with CSU on graduate programs, but have you tried contacting UNA directly. They might not be aware that there is a problem with CSU - or the problem may be with UNA in which case you might want to rethink applying there.
