Inexplicable dearth of Asians on faculty. Why should a seminary in the Philippines have mostly non-Filipino faculty? Puzzling.
My opinion is that "International School of Theology-Asia" would have been a more user-friendly subject line than "opinions please?"
Accredited by the: Asia Theological Association (ATA) and the Association for Theological Education in South East Asia (ATESEA) How many country in Asia or even South East Asia are Christian country except philiphine.
Probably none except Russia. But - there are probably at least 100 million throughout other Asian countries. The Philippines is Christian because it was conquered under the Spanish Inquisition. Two states of being were allowed - Christian or dead. Spanish Muslims quickly learned their Hail Marys.
The Moros weren't subdued (not converted) until the U.S. took up the task. And the Philippine government has recently, and reluctantly, invited back in some U.S. troops to repeat the task.
It looks like a decent seminary, and the ATA recognition is for real. How much can actually be done by distance education, however, may be understood by the following: "Some correspondence study classes may be credited toward ISOT-Asia degree programs. Most may be credited toward ISOT-Asia certificate programs. However, no ISOT-Asia degree or certificate program can be completed by correspondence classes alone." Matt
