    Hello,

First off, thanks to all of you for providing the wealth of information on here, it's very helpful and informative, I read the forum topics daily, and learn something new each time. I would like an opinion on graduate schools. I live in northern VA, so as far as DL or part time, there are a few big ones, mainly phoenix (where I go now), Devry (keller), and Strayer. I want to get a general M.A/M.S in management, not M.B.A, and would like opinions from anyone who would offer them. I know all about the animosity towards these schools by many of you, especially phoenix, but I also know they are all regionally accredited and widely recognized and accepted by employers up here. I have heard good things about all 3 programs, and have been accepted into all three as well having just taken the GMAT and scored highly on the GRE. I want a graduate business degree to complement the undergraduate one I will receive next year, which I will take part time along with my M.A. from mason. I am attempting to get as much school as I can while I am young, and am relying heavily on scholarships and a trust left to me by my wonderful grandmother, and I want to make sure it's money well spent. Any and all opinions/recommendations are appreciated, and thanks again to all of you for the information:)

Can't comment on your three options, but at the risk of muddying the waters, will suggest another school/program: Southwest Missouri State University's Master of Science in Administrative Studies.

The degree mixes business, HR and communications courses with a chosen area of emphasis. As stated on their Web site, the degree "is a cross-disciplinary program which features enhancement of administrative abilities with areas of emphasis in Applied Communication, Community Analysis, Environmental Management, Project Management and an individualized option." (I think only the Applied Com. and Proj. Man. options are available entirely online -- but you can check their Web site if interested).

I'm in the middle of my first course and find it challenging, interesting and very well formatted. The university staff has been extremely responsive and professional. Total cost for the MS will be under $8,000.

    Best of luck,
    Dan

    another option

Capella offers an M.S. in Organization and Management with a general program, as well as specializations in HR Management, IT Management, and Leadership.

Tuition is going up at Capella 1 July, so at that time each M.S. course in Business will be $1750, and 12 courses are needed for the degree.

    Regards,

    Adrienne
