Yes: for each of these exams, your score is compared with the scores of sample students who took a brick-and-mortar course in the subject and then took the exam.

My wife Rosie took her Excelsior College Exams at Prometric testing centers, so she got her grade as she walked out; but she had to wait weeks for DANTES results. (I guess it was the opposite experience for you.) As she walked out of the Abnormal Psychology exam, she wasn't at all sure how she had done. The staff person said, "Congratulations." "I passed?" "You got an A." On Psychology of Adulthood and Aging, she thought she had got a B, and she had.

You might want to look at the military pass rates: http://www.dantes.doded.mil/dantes_web/examinations/ece2.htm
I wonder why Psychology of Adulthood and Aging has a pass rate of 42%, while Foundations of Gerontology (which Rosie will be taking shortly, and which seems to have a lot of overlap in content) has a pass rate of 67%.

    Silly question.

"Brage är skaldekonstens gud och son till Oden och jättinnan Gunnlöd.

Brage är gift med Idun, och tillsammans har de många barn. Alla poeter och sångare räknades som Brages adoptivbarn.

Han är alltid pågott humör och talar på vers hela tiden. Som många andra poeter tycker han om att supa friskt och sjunga högt.

Loke retar honom ofta och kallar Brage för "bänkprydnad", eftersom han aldrig är ute och slåss."

I have taken 19 CLEP / DANTES and 3 ECE exams. The grading is about the same. I really think the ECE exams are a bit harder. I scored A's and B's on the CLEP and DANTES and never studied for most of them. I scored a B on the ECE exam I studied for and two C's on the ones I did not study for.

Overall, I would say they are comparable.
