I’m looking for an accredited Masters program entirely online that offers a master in counseling or any psychology related field. So, far I’ve found two schools that offer what I’m looking for Capella and City University. I’m hoping that someone on Degree info will help me choose a good accredited school.

    Helpful information:
I need a school that program is entirely online
    Program must be accredited
No need to take the GRE
    School program in United States

    Hi Avia

Here are some programs I would consider. Most of them fail to meet all of your requirements but may, in fact, be better choices despite that.

East Carolina University - requires GRE but may be looked on much more favorably than Capella or other all online schools.

Northcentral University - Low cost, RA accredited, I believe earlier concerns about it being too easy have been addressed.

Liberty University - MA in Counseling that potentially qualifies the student for state licensing.

Kansas State University - Industrial/Organizational Psychology which requires very short residency.

Pacific Graduate School of Psychology - Associated with Stanford, likely tough to get in to, has short residency.

Pacifica Graduate Institute - MA in Couseling Psychology, Humanistic focus,.

Good luck in your search and choice.

Concordia University Wisconsin has a degree in Counselor education. Also, the University of Central Michigan, Prescott College, Vermont College, Goddard College and Seton Hall have DL psychology or Counseling programs at the Masters level.

Prescott, Vermont and Goddard are largely "self-designed" programs in which your input is used to create a plan of study. They are not "entirely" online. You will have some difficulty with an totally online program since most schools require some residency. Seton Hall might be your best bet. However, in my opinion some residency is a good thing. My MS in Clinical Psychology was done via DL from Concordia and I visited the campus three times total over my time there. Concordia now just has the counseling program but it is patterned the same. There also has to be some internships a practica that you will need to complete in any program you choose.

California State University, Dominguez Hills offers an MA in Behavioral Science with a specialization in Negotiation and Conflict Management. This isn't intended to qualify you for a counseling license, but rather is aimed a people in police work, labor relations etc. Affordable, no on-campus visits required, no GRE.

    Here's another

You may also consider the University of West Alabama's Masters program. at

    http://www.columbiasouthern.edu/uwa/

tis a bit weird with the name and all, but the psych courses are in line with other schools if you choose that concentration.
    Also nice and cheap!

Some others with limited residencies are

    www.itp.edu
depending on which side of the rainbow from which you wish to practice.

fielding is the grandaddy of the distributed programs. It is APA acc. and quite expensive. Plus, it is a PhD. program.

Of course, there is also Walden...

Here's another interesting choice that I've been batting around some... Embry Riddle has a Human Factors masters of aeronautical sciences. It's a psych program and one could probablty dual major in space studies. How cool is that?

So, anyhow, that's what I've found.

These are the holy grails as far as I'm concerned. Unfortunately I couldn't afford the rent around there. If only they would go a bit more DL. Like two residencies per year or something like it. Joseph Campbell library, cool.
