Did I read somewhere on this forum that eventually Nova will be offering Phd's instead of DBA's. I was looking for a Phd in Business Admin, where I could hopefully concentrate in accounting. I like Nova's program overall but I would like to receive a Phd.

    Anybody know?

The word on the street is that they are indeed considering switching from a DBA to a Ph.D. program. I have no idea as to when that is supposed to occur though.

My guess is that when the the decision has been made and they get approvals from their accreditors that the move will be swift. When the D.Sc. program was switched to a Ph.D. at Nova in 1994 the transition seemed less an a year. For a couple of years they continued to offer both degrees and then phased out the D.Sc. program.

The last time I was on campus for a class (last August) we were told that SBE (School of Business) was taking the matter through internal channels for approval. The anticipation was that it would take until the first part of 2004 to get this done. I'd watch the main Nova website (www.nova.edu) for the announcement.
