    Greetings.

Just wanted to recommend PBS YOU programming as a preparation for passing tests. I found it very useful. They have excellent business programs: Intro to marketing, Management, Business Law, and Economics. I think they also have Western Civ., Art, and Culture.
    Regards,

Yes, I have checked that channel once in a while. Today, I just scheduled the TiVo to record about 10 programs on Psychology that will be airing this month. (Love that TiVo.)

Just to throw this in...since it's in the same vein.

www.learner.org offers free video-on-demand from Annenberg/CPB (Corp for Pub Broadcasting) covering a wide range of topics. I've been using these videos as part of my prep for the US History CLEP tests and they are indispensible as a 'refresher'.

I was looking for PBS YOU (Your Own University) to see if I could add it to my home owners cable TV contract. Alas I find it ran out of money and was replaced by CREATE. Unfortunatley CREATE does not have the type of good educational programming that was carried by PBS YOU. In the UK and in Canada (at least in BC) there is university level content programming broadcast daily.
Is it too much to expect similar national programming here in the USA?

The BBC - and I assume the Canadian equivalent - is funded by the government. In the US the public broadcasting system (PBS) is not a government funded channel. My wife is British and as she explains it to me there is some type of tax that funds the BBC.

The Research Channel (via webcast) is also a good source of learning but sometimes just interesting:
