I've read in the TESC "ways to earn credit" section they list ACE recomended credit. Has anyone gained credit this way? I've noticed a couple of business certs that will give you some BIG credits, ex.: Chartered Financial Consultant (CHFC) 30+ undergrad Certified Employee Benefit Specialist (CEBS) 30 + and a dozen or so grad school credit Some form of Computer specialist yields 20+ credits Some form of business admin cert is good for 20 or so credits Has anyone applied these to a degree? Any other ACE programs I should look into?

TESC will accept anything ACE has approved as college level credit, and they can give you a complete list. But it has to fit into your degree program. I have security certs through Defense Security Service but they don't fit my degree and I don't want my degree to fit it. You could possibly use them as your free electives. My husband is currently working the Electrical Engineering AS degree through Thomson Direct, which is ACE approved. He will be able to carry that to TESC toward his BSE.
bceagles, As well, many military occupations (and training schools associated with it) are evaluated by ACE for college credit. Many military correspondence courses (Marine Corps MCI's come to mind) are evaluated too. Best Regards, Bill

Most school libraries will have the ACE guide to credit recommendations. I forget the exact title, but doing a search in the reference section with "ACE" as a keyword should do the trick.
I corresponded with ACE via email. Just in case, it stands for American Council on Education. It's the same folks that administer the GED test.
I recieved 12 total credits for my CPP (Certified Payroll Professiona) 3 Hours Payroll accounting 3 Hours Payroll taxes 2 hours business math 1 hour CIS 1 Hour Personnel Admin 2 Hours Principles of accounting COSC accepted 8 of these with the other 4 being rejected as duplicate credit. I had taken the CLEP intro to Computers, Priniciples of Acctg, and had already taken ECE HR management. FYI, get your ACE credits accepted first, then ask what CLEP exams would avoid duplicate credits. In my case it really didn't hurt as these were all oddball credits anyway, but if you really needed them... Bottom line, 8 credits just for the asking. COSC also allows you to present a certificate and challenge for credit. This is only for certificates that are not ACE rated.
Military Correspondence Courses I have received 76 hours from TESC for my ACE reviewed military correspondence courses from the Army, Air Force and Marines. I am still taking more of these courses. .
According to the SMART transcript I have received from the Navy, my five years of Navy training/experience is worth about 80 ACE-evaluated lower-level credits.
