AIU sends me email messages all the time, and yesterday I was looking around their website and it looks pretty impressive--like a school that is meant to be online rather than a school that also offers online. They are RA. It seems like you do modules of two classes, five weeks each (UoP type?) Does anyone have any experience with them? curriculum? cost? I'm currently at TESC and will have my AA around January (12 months to complete).

    Hi Trish,

I graduated from AIU's BBA program in Dec 2003, and am currently enrolled in the MBA program. Overall, I think AIU is a good school. The curriculum (for business, I can speak for Information Technology of Education) is solid, the professors can be easily reached and are helpful, the administration is okay, and you can earn a degree in a relatively short amount of time. However, the cost of the program is expensive. As of now, I think the BBA and the MBA programs cost about $26,000 and $28,000 respectively. If you have VA benefits or a great deal of corporate reimbursement, I definently recommend AIU. However, if you don't want to be burdened with student loans or pay a lot out of pocket, AIU may not be for you.

    I hope this helps

Yes, it does, thanks. Any idea how credits transfer--as in an AS at TESC in management to theirs? They have their own credit structure and names for classes, I'm wondering if they match their intro computer class to another schools.

    Trish,

AIU is pretty liberal when it comes to taking credits from other schools. Considering you are getting an AA from an RA school, AIU will take all of your credits from your AA. This is the case no matter what you decide to major in (ie., IT, business, Visual Arts, etc). AIU is liberal in how it takes credits because it has a standardized curriculum for all of its majors, and the curriculum is designed to educate people who have no prior experience with that major.

AIU is a good choice if you have an Associates, and still have a lot of credits left toward a Bachelor's. However, for those who only have a few credits left; AIU is probably not the best choice because they insist you take each class in the curriculum.

Again, I hope this helps. Whatever you decide, I wish you the best of luck.
