All of the Troy St. students I have seen here are Computer Science majors. Anyone take the DL courses in another area, and if so, how was the experience? I have decided to go with TSU, for several reasons. First, they actually offer the major I really wanted via DL (Pol. Sci.). Second, they have the 5 terms, so I can take 2 classes per and be full time, allowing me to complete my degree faster. And third, as discussed in my other thread, they have the perceived quality that is offered by a state school... So any input on the school would be appreciated.

The only non-CS class I have taken with Troy State is ENG102 which was crap load of papers and a proctored final. The instructor was very good and I enjoyed the class. Each course varies in quality (because they vary in instructors and teaching styles). So far, I have not had major complaints about any of the instructors. There are some that give a lot of work and there are some that don't. The tests are sometimes straight forward, sometimes they are word-$@!?'ed (lack of a better term, sorry!) so you have to reread the question 50 million times to understand it. As far as the over-all quality of the school? It's pretty good.

    Best Regards,
    Bill

Classes I have taken at TSU that were non-CS related:
    Microeconomics
    Macroeconomics
    US History 1877-Present
    Earth Science with Lab

All in all the classes were even except in Earth Science I had to write a research paper. Generally weekly reading assignments and discussion board questions with a mid-term and a final. Earth Science had weekly quizzes.
