As this is not really relevant to the other ABCS thread I thought I would place it here. In line with so much discussion of school names, I am not a big fan of the name that ABCS chose to replace the Unversity of Biblical Studies and Seminary. Just personal preference but I think it would have been better to choose something like Corvin Theological Seminary (named after original founder) or Oklahoma Theological Seminary. American just does not have the same ring to it. Others have made this comment with regard to schools use of the word "American" or "International". I remember my wife's first reaction to The Graduate School of America (now Capella). She said it sounded like the "Mall of the Americas" in Mineapolis MN. North
I guess i don't have that big of a problem with the name. I just hope their vision and desire to grow a strong institution matches lives up to the name. I probably would have picked something else. Robert
The name "International-American Theological and Biblical Seminary for United Global Studies" has a nice sound, don't you think? Of course, it would probably take about three lines to get it all on one's diploma! And, iirc, there is already a school using this name somewhere in Louisiana, St. Kitts, or is it Norfold Island? Oh Well! Maybe not! Russell
While surfing I noticed that ABCS has a "learning center extension" called Oklahoma Bible College and Seminary. Their website is identical to the ABCS website of a couple months ago. Here's the link: http://www.accredbiblecol.com/ Barry
Well, that is strange to say the least. I wonder what happend. Were they considering becoming Oklahoma Bible College and Seminary before they decided on ABCS and set the sight up??? The sight says that OBCS is TRACS accredited which leads me to believe that they were thinking of doing just that. If anyone finds out let us know. North
