I just finished my last class at Mountain State University. It took me about 18 months to complete the BS in Aviation leadership and management. I took full advantage of test like DSST and CLEP. Additionally I used my FAA aviation certifications to get college credits. I would like to thank all of you for providing so much information. I would not have been able to do it without the people here. Special thanks to John Bear, Rich Douglas, Bruce, Charles and Gus Sainz who at one time or another where instrumental on helping me make up my mind on how to proceed.

Well Guz, I guest since you are in the same city as me, and persuaded me to go with and RA degree, you do the ritual. Thanks for your very thick headed advice. I am glad I followed it as this opens a lot of doors for me.

    I agree 100%. Congratulations!

I have to thank you also Cyrus. Even though I did not get my degree with TESC, I used the same principles you mentioned with Mountain State University and it worked. Thanks again.

Two universities spring to mind for DL aviation related graduate programs. What type of aviation classes do you want to teach (aviation management, human factors, etc.)?
    Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University http://www.erau.edu/omni/ec/dleo/dleo_gr_degrees.html
    University of North Dakota http://www.aero.und.edu/avitms/index.html

Good luck with your next goal!

Airtorn could you tell me how you managed to go from a B.S. in Professional Aeronautics to an M.A. in International Relations. Did you have to take any additional classes? I would love to do something like that if I could. Thanks in advance for the in formation.

I did not have to take any additional classes. The last two years of my B.S. were a mixture of aviation safety and business administration classes. I never took a political science class before starting this program

I looked at several programs before I started this masters degree. I looked at public administration, business administration, the two aviation related masters programs mentioned earlier in this thread, and even one in geoscience through Mississippi State. When I saw this program, I knew it was something that would interest me and that I could find a use for down the road. Like an MBA, it is interdisciplinary - I have classes in political science, economics, history, and geography. Since I have a GI Bill that I will still need to use after finishing this program, I am sure I will end up getting a second degree in one of the areas that I originally looked at.

There are a lot of programs out there that do not require leveling classes - programs designed for students with great diversity in bachelors degrees. Pick one you are interested in and press. If international relations/political science is an interest, there are a handful that are fully DL out there. Check out http://distance.gradschools.com/ and http://www.petersons.com/ for some ideas.

So what do you want to teach? I am sure a lot of people here will help you find a program.

I would love to teach aviation courses. However most colleges want a master degree. I would love to find a back door to this requirement.
