It is still early in my career so, I might not be such a help. I will tell you that I am what they call, research mapping. This is laying a map of the area that you plan to research( in my case, archives...) , map out what they have , then it allows you to use it better. You would make it "user friendly" if you will. Fortunately, I am a librarian, so it will help me become a stronger historian. I am the class taking and research gathering stage. I will tell you that I have 5 chapters mapped out, and that some personal interviews are being set up. I hope this helps

I am researching the issue of whether there is a functional hierarchy in the Christian Trinity using, as far as I know, a methodology not before attempted to any extent. The question received just minor resistance from my promoter. This is a pasture well-grazed. My different approach, though, was what got my topic finally approved. Though I now am a little unsure of how to end the last two chapters, I hope to finish in November, 04. Then it will be judged by four profs of Systematic Theology from three state universities. Then I have a few months to do minor corrections. Maybe I'll graduate in May, 05.

Develop the proposal, which will include the introductory chapter, literature review, and methodology sections.

    Conduct your research.

    Write it up.

Change it a little or a lot.

    Defend it.

    Graduate.
