For those of you contemplating doing a Dissertation-The Union Institute lists the titles of thousands of works done in many different disciplines over the years.
They are listed by area of Study and Research Focus. For Example:
Area of Study: Higher Education Admin Research Focus: Higher Education
They are noted under all areas of Study.
The titles of the dissertations are interesting to review. Go to"

An amazingly diverse group of subjects. But you are mistaken in one important area. They're not all dissertations. As people who are familiar with distance education know, Union requires the Project Demonstrating Excellence, or PDE. The PDE is usually, but not always, in the form of a dissertation. But many alternative forms are also employed.

Also, don't confuse the term "research focus" with the concentration and specializations declared by learners. "Research focus" merely applies to the nature of the person's PDE.

    Thank you for that link.

I assume that was a question and merely lacked the correct punctuation.

I don't think anyone intending to pursue a doctorate from CCU should make cracks about Union's PDE list. I recall John Bear remarking about some of the questionable dissertations approved by CCU and Thomas Neal's unwillingness to allow John to read them.

Union's PDE's are available via interlibrary loan, as well as for purchase from UMI. This is not the case with CCU, of course. I guess we'll never know if their archives contain such interesting titles.

Are any CCU dissertations available? I have not seen any in UMI/Dissertation Abstracts.

They're locked up in a building on Main Street in Santa Ana.
