I just got off of the phone (long awaited) with the Texas State Board of Examiners of Professional Counselors - and found out that for those of you that may currently be involved in an online school or plan to assume LPC status later on in the State of Texas, your school needs to be listed in the institutional database at www.chea.org.

I appreciate all of you that have helped me find out information about the AACRAO and being licensed with an online degree in the State of Texas - and I thought I would pass this information along.

The lady I spoke with said that most of the time if the university/college was listed in the database, the state would accept their transcripts. Apparently, RA and National Accreditation are both appropriate. From what I can see - State Accreditation is, 99% of the time, not acceptable.

Just something to keep in mind.
