Besides Saybrook any alternative doctoral program permit completing an ABD w/ thesis?

The chair of my dept. who has for years been ABD in English Lit. did not know that there might be some schools that might permit her to enroll and finish her doctorate by writing a thesis. I believe that Saybrook Institute has this kind of program. Are there any other insititutions that do not require you to take more courses but simply to enroll and finish the degree with a dissertation?

 

Union Institute & University used to give "advanced standing" to ABD's, but the last I looked was a few years ago, and I have no idea if just the dissertation is required. Certainly worth looking into.

 

It is also possible that one of the non-US dissertation-only doctoral programs might be a good fit in this case.
