I'm about to take some CLEP's... any readers have experience with the CLEP Test Preparation Study Guides sold on ebay at http://www.stores.ebay.com/id=4371464 ?
If so, please advise for their usefulness or lack there about.

    Greetings,

I took several CLEP exams before; however I never used any product at ebay. My next CLEP exam is Introductory Psychology; which I just bought the study guide from the ebay (First time). The study guide looks great, it highlights out the keywords, and very informative...but I am not sure it helps or not.

You can find www.Bain4weeks.com for more details on study materials. InstantCerts.com did not help me at all in my U.S History exam, but some said that it helps them on other exams. Anyway, you can try http://www.petersons.com/navy CLEP exam. It is FREE for Navy and Marines.

    Good Luck & Semper Fi,
    Tekman

I've purchased several, from both half.com (eBay owned) and Amazon.com. The brand I like best is called: "Review Book for CLEP." There is also "The Best Review" but I really didn't like it as much.

I never had a problem until this last time, when someone did not send me my book and I filed a complaint with half.com. I haven't heard a word from the either. This was in December.

Do a search for past threads on "xenia34" for other comments. I found it to be a really thorough set of notes - like it was what she put together for taking her own tests. Five bucks for a really good reference, you can't go wrong... One thing I liked is the option to receive a PDF by email instead of getting the paper copy in the mail. I have only used her Analysis & Interp of Literature to study the CLEP. I will buy her Psychology & Biology package when I get around to taking those. Try one for yourself.

These guides a basically a set of typed notes with little tips on how to remember things and url's for additional reading and information. They are very basic and while there are a few typos, I found the Analyzing and Interpreting Lit book helpful, I passed with a 66 using only this book. I've bought her Psychology, Sociology and Lifespan Development as a springboard for studying for the Psych GRE. She has developed her own website and is also getting ready to offer American Government and US History last I heard. At 5.00 per guide I think the price is right if you are starting your study from scratch. I'm also a little anal and like to prepare for exams and need the hand holding. You can try one guide and if you don't think it's helpful you've spent 5.00 and can probably afford such a small loss. Just my .02. :)
