Hi, after receiving my A.A. at a local community college, I started Cal State University, Fullerton this week. Today, I received my program evaluation. I received a lot less transfer credit then I had previously been told. After complaining for about 2 hours, I didn't get anywhere with the evaluator. In fact, I now have additional classes to make up. What I need so far is a regional accredited college that I can earned additional credits at. I need the following classes. Anatomy and Physiology, Advanced College Writing, Principles of Movement, Exercise Physiology, and Measurement and Statistics in Kinesiology. As must be apparent, I am a Kinesiology Major. If you know of any college that offers any of these classes, please let me know. All must be upper division with the exception of the Anatomy & Physiology class.
Greetings. When shopping for correspondence/DL classes, three good supermarkets <g> are the following: Brigham Young University: http://ce.byu.edu/is/site/index.dhtm Louisiana State University: http://www.is.lsu.edu/ Oklahoma University: http://isd.ou.edu/ Ohio University: http://www.ohiou.edu/independent/ (Lucky you, I'm having a 4-for-the-price-of-3 sale!) The above colleges offer a wide range of reasonably priced, RA courses. I doubt any of the above offer kinesiology-related courses, but you'll have to check to find out. You may also want to check the "DistanceLearn"(tm) database, which is generously provided by Excelsior College (see http://www.excelsior.edu/ ). Lastly, I've heard of a book that might prove useful. I can't quite remember the author (<g>), but you can find out about the book by visiting www.degree.net . Good luck! Cordially, Richard Kanarek
My aging copy of BG14 tells me that there's a DL Masters degree program in Kinesiology at the University of Texas. If you're feeling a bit exotic then you could also check out the DL Bachelors degree program in Kinesiology at Central Queensland University in Australia. Jack
The sad part of of this is that I have already taken each class. Although, I did just take Anatomy and they want an Anatomy & Physiology course. They said they require Upper Division Units for the other courses. I took them at the CC. I am really surprised that there are not more colleges offering Kinesiology at a distance. Thoughs of you with some pull, please make this happen.
