I know that the AIAS is an accredited school. But it is more of a home study course. And I was wondering has anyone taken their courses? And more importantly, how is a degree/certificate from their viewed by the world?

AIAS is accredited by Distance Education Training Council (DETC). DETC is a legitimate and recognized accreditation body. However, past studies suggest that degrees from DETC schools are not as accepted as degrees from RA schools. The utility of a DETC degree is probably less than that of an equivalent RA credential but since AIAS does not have many competitors, the utility of their credentials may be fairly high especially if you don't intend to use your credential as a springboard to further your education or to secure a place in RA schools.

AIAS was founded in 1916, so it has been around for quite some time. It appears that they don't award undergraduate (BA/BS) and graduate degrees.
