Members may be interested in the response I have just had from the Irish Authorities: "...The Universities Act, 1997 does contain a prohibition on the use of the word "university" to describe an educational establishment or facility without the approval of the Minister, except where such a facility was established and described as such prior to July 30th 1996. ... The name Dublin Metropolitan University which is registered in Ireland as a business was incorporated after July 30th 1996 and as such is not entitled to use the word "university" in it's title. As such this University is not recognised in Ireland, ..."
