    Need SERIOUS help! :)

    Hiyas.

I need some help. I've been researching online universities and colleges for some time now - and I'm soon (hopefully) to start going to one, provided I find the best one for me.

What I'm really looking for is an AA/BA (both, or similar) with a MAJOR in Creative Writing, Playwriting, Literature, or something extremely close.

From what I can see - all of these come on a Master's level, or are offered at non-RA universities/colleges.

Maybe I'm just out of luck - but I love writing (and I want to teach it on the college level evetually) and I hate to get something undergraduate degree-wise that's almost of no use to me (other than meeting a requirement for getting a Master's degree).

Any ideas? (and St. Mary of the Woods, I found out, unfortunately is only for women on the undergraduate level. Phooey.)

    - Clay

The solution seems obvious: Male to Female Surgeons

That's not exactly what I had in mind.. :D

AND..somehow I don't think student loans would pay for it.

I think that most people who have goals such as yours get their Bachelors degree in something like English Literature or Comparative Literature. There are quite a few programs that fall into those categories. If you're not interested in that but just want the Creative Writing stuff then you might take a look at Burlington College or Monash University. Good luck,

What about journalism? My son is taking a mix of print journalism and film classes. Would give lots of opportunity to write and study scripts, etc., as well.

    Hi Clay,

You might want to look at Burlington College. They have a BA program in writing and literature (their AA program is in general studies, but can apply toward the BA).

They also have a program called the Independent Degree Program, in which you can complete the degree via independent study (a pretty logical way to complete a degree in writing) with a couple of weekend residencies.
