University of Reading is advertising a unique DL Master's program in The Economist: MSc ISIB (Distance)

Of note is that (for once) I see no degree mill ads in The Economist!

Also of note is an article entitled "What's it worth?" that describes an Oxford study of the value of educational qualifications in the U.K. The basic conclusion is that the level of employer interest in degrees is falling as the supply of graduates grows and as the quality of education in Britain's universities diminishes.

The ISMA course is fairly well known in the UK, and has a good record placing graduates.

Amazingly, there weren't any degree mill ads that I could see in The Economist the week before, either. Mind you, they may just have been crowded out by the serried ranks of expensive MBA programmes doing their new year recruitment push.

The article is one of those that The Economist makes available online without needing a subscription http://www.economist.com/World/europe/displayStory.cfm?story_id=2352932 it will no doubt add yet more fuel to the top-up fees and student loans debate . . . not that anything that combustible needed extra fuel!
