I’m trying to decide between two PhD programs: Regent University’s Organizational Leadership program and Walden’s Public Administration program. My main goal is to use the degree to pursue a leadership position in the for-profit or non-profit sectors as well as secure an adjunct teaching position at a local university. My questions are which degree is do you think would be more acceptable (marketable) in the business world? If you had to make this choice which program would you choose and why?
Other Alternatives Have you considered Capella University's School of Human Services? They have a Ph.D. in Management of Non-profit agencies (see http://www.capella.edu/reborn/html/schools/humanserv/mang_np_phd.aspx). They also have a Ph.D. in Industrial and Organizational Psychology (see http://www.capella.edu/reborn/html/schools/psychology/ind_org_list.aspx).
Well, from experience I would say the Public Administration degree holds more weight, at least in the government/non-for profit organization. The school choice is determined by what you want out of it IE cost, course work ect.
