  1. Hi everyone,

Firstly, I want to thank everyone for their assistance, ideas, help, advice, tips, etc. for exam taking. There is a lot of content on DegreeInfo and it's been invaluable.

I noticed a thread recently from someone asking if different categories could be set up to accommodate specific exams. From what I see, the majority of people don't have the need or desire to see this, and feel it would fracture the nature of DegreeInfo's simple layout.

I'm planning to set up a complementary forum on another dedicated website which will have a very specific target - CLEP, DANTES and ECE exam tips/hints/resources, organized by discipline or exam type. This will also focus mainly on the Big 3 institutions, but could be applicable to others if desired. I'd also like to incorporate surveys, portfolio assessment experiences and cost estimates if people are willing to contribute.

Assuming there are no issues I plan on having links and recommendations to visit this site as well as bain4weeks.com, as I don't plan on focusing on accreditation issues, "which is the best MBA" discussions, or duplicating the excellent work that Lawrie has done - I want something that's targeted specifically at the person who is about to take CLEP xxxx or DANTES yyyy and wants to see, in one place, discussion and recommendations from people who have taken the exams.

This will be a labor of love, not profit (but at some point I hope to get portfolio credit for it so it's not entirely altruistic :) ). If you have an interest or suggestion, please feel free to drop me a line at [email protected].

    Cheers,
    Mark

Excelsior College's Electronic Peer Network (EPN) has a discussion group (for Excelsior enrolled students only) organized with one discussion topic on each of the ECE exams, and topics on the CLEP, DANTES, and GRE. I find DegreeInfo to be much more information-rich on these topics, but a student may find the occasional useful exam tip on the EPN.

Start at http://webct.excelsior.edu/help/epnpublic.htm, log in with your Excelsior login and password, click on the "LIBERAL ARTS" tab, then "DISCUSSION", then "Arts & Sciences Discussion".
