Is it just me, or does anyone else think it is funny (strange) that the University of Phoenix, which offers doctoral programs, does not readily list them in their online advertisements. I had to do some digging to find them. Are they not as accredited as the bachelors and masters programs?

    They are just as accredited

However, they are not as widely desired as the lower level courses so not as necessary to market. UoP is a for profit university and runs the ship like a business. Therefore, you spend your marketing dollars on the most widely desired, thus profitable, products. Do not take this as a slam on UoP it is just a fact of how they operate.

UoP doctoral programs are accredited. I echo Chris's statement that they are not marketed as widely as the bachelor and master programs.

I really liked the class schedule of the DBA at U of P. The class selection, and residencies looked very interesting. If you do not have a MBA but a terminal degree in another subject, or masters, there are quite a few pre-req.

The Doctor of Organizational Management did not have the pre-req. and has a nice mix of classes, a good general doctorate.

However, the cost is so high. Around $42000 with travel expenses. It is not a flexible program either. You must complete classes on time, and residencies as exactly scheduled.

Nonetheless, I think it is a quality program, even though I chose another one.

    Best of luck.

A guy on Russian-language forum just asked about part-time doctorates, and asked wich will be better to move to college teaching (he was considering UOPx and Capella). I suggested Nova, but will gladly pass on any other recommendations.

BTW, I was surprised by owerall warm responce to Phoenix on that board (although people were sceptical about part-time doctorates in general). We exUSSR emigrants can be wery snobbish :D , so it's a good indicator of overall acceptance for UoPx. Good for them!
