Indian Universities Ph.D In Systems Through Distance Education Reg.

    This has reference to Indian Universties and my query is regarding which university in India, particularly South India offers Ph.D in Systems (Computers) through Distance Education / Off - Campus Mode.

    I am an M.Sc (Information Technology) from Alagappa University, Karikudi with 54% and would like advice from competent professionals regarding Ph.D in Systems through Distance Education in South India.

    My general observation has been that there is very little talk of Indian DL programs on this forum because, to my knowledge, these programs are not open to anyone either not living in India or people with Indian citizenship living outside the country. Others may know more about this as well as the specifics of judging programs such as you've described.

    Does that mean you believe they accept foreign students? I'm an internationally minded American who would be interested in considering distance postgraduate programs at Indian universities if they were interested in me.

    This is the longest list of open universities in India I've seen. Any thoughts from knowledgeable people?

    To my knowledge many students from other foreign universities do get postgraduate and professional degrees from Indian universities either in regular or distance education mode. However many universities limit their exam centres to india and i am not very sure if they reach upto America. I shall let know after some enquiries which shall take some time.
