I may be wrong about this but my understanding is that there are classes that are live video. If this is true, how flexible are those classes? Can you view the classes anytime as a streaming video?

I travel 50-75% of the time and sometimes my day ends at 1PM and sometimes 1AM. I need completee flexability and I want to know if the PhD program gives the same flexability as the MS program.

    Thanks.

In my experience the PhD program is as flexible as the masters program.

TUI uses Horizon Live for their core PhD courses. Horizon Live is a blackboard type of tool where the professor can display slides, write messages, draw, etc. on a board for all to see. He/she also speaks through a one way audio interface. Students can ask questions and post comments using a live text interface similar to an instant messenger. The Horizon Live conferences are once per module (five modules per term) and are about an hour long. They are archived for those students unable to attend and attendance is not graded.

All of the material you need for these courses is online. They don't send a CD for the core courses, only the electives. If you travel quite a bit and won't have reliable high-speed access, I recommend that you download everything possible before your trip so you can study in the airport, on the airplane, etc. You still have the option of participating in the threaded discussion or doing an enhanced case study assignment. So, you can still complete most of your assignments off-line. One hitch: they only open each module every two weeks (per the schedule) because they are continuously updating the course content. This means that you will have to have reliable access at least once every two weeks.

    I hope this helps.
