Ok folks, this is my first time, so be gentle with me. I'm very interested in a PhD in Christian Spirituality. I've contacted several schools in the UK: Trinity, St. John's, Wales, the Greenwich programme, and a few others there, as well as the Unisa programme and a couple in Australia. Oh, how I wish I'd known you a year ago before I did all of this enquiry. So, what do you think? Which is the better way to go? It's great to get some imput. Thanks so much. Paul
I am not sure about the non-US schools but here some US schools you can look at- http://www.gospelcom.net/bakersguide/doctoral.php
Thanks so much Randall. Impressive list. I contacted Oxford a few days ago, and surpisingly, they recommended a program called "Graduate Theological Foundation." I'd never heard of it. I looked at their site and ordered some information. But it really seems to have so much of what I personally want: it takes more of a sacramental approach (catholic, anglican, etc.), as opposed to a Baptist tradition (and that certainly is not a criticism), it offers opportunities to study abroad, impressive faculty. I saw no reference to accreditation. Any thoughts?

Ouch! That's disappointing, but thanks oxpecker. It's weird though, I received this email from an Oxford site this week: Dear Paul, Thank you for your message. I am afraid I do not know of any graduate degree by Distance Learning in Britain on Christian Spirituality. But I think exactly what you want would be provided by the US Graduate Theological Foundation. Get onto their website, and contact John Morgan, who is a friend and colleague of mine. I am sure this wold be helpful. Yours sincerely, Henry Wansbrough [email protected] Maybe I was not on a legitimate site, but I thought I was.
