Hello, I am looking for an option for a degree in Emergency Management Education. Is there a school that offers this through dl? Thanks. Hille
Are you looking for an undergraduate or a graduate-level program? Does it have to be in Emergency Management Education or will emergency management and related programs be enough? For example, TUI offers an Emergency and Disaster Management program at the certificate, undergraduate, and graduate levels, through their College of Health Sciences. (http://www.tourou.edu/chs/index.htm) Also, the FEMA website lists dozens of emergency management degree programs. Steve
Hille: I don't think there are any degrees specifically in Emergency Management Education. Emergency management is still a fairly new concept in the academic world. If you check the higher education project links on the FEMI-EMI homepage all degrees are broken down by level and there is even one link specific to distance learning programs. I browsed them and did not see anything close to education. Just the normal stuff like environmental, public admin., health science, business etc. You could even send an email to Dr. Blanchard at EMI and ask because new programs are being added all the time. For years emergency management was always a concentration tacked on to business, environmental and health degrees. I am glad that it is now changing and emergency management is starting to stand alone as its own discipline. Now they just need to have a distance learning PhD specifically in emergency management!!
