"The Jesuit Distance Education Network (JesuitNET) was created in 1999 as a collaborative effort of 25 U.S. Jesuit colleges and universities to develop, share and deliver a broad range of online academic programs and services for a national and eventually international audience. JesuitNET seeks to meet the diverse, growing needs of both traditional and non-traditional learners by providing a flexible and convenient way to learn, and by complementing classroom learning on Jesuit campuses.

JesuitNET offers its member colleges and universities the following range of distance education services:

Web portal catalog of online programs and courses

Collaborative online program planning and development

Online hosting and help desk services

    Faculty course design workshops

JesuitNET is part of the Association of Jesuit Colleges and Universities (AJCU), a national voluntary service organization whose institutional members are the 28 Jesuit colleges and universities in the United States. Although each institution is separately chartered by the state and is legally autonomous under its own board of trustees, the 28 institutions are bounded together by a common heritage, vision and purpose. The Association assists its member institutions in an ongoing effort to improve their educational effectiveness, and through workshops and conferences promotes and facilitates the professional development of faculty and staff."

I think that this could be a very interesting site but they need to improve their search engine or else Jesuit schools need to start offering more distance education. I did several searches on programs and they all came up empty. One search where I though for sure I would get a hit was a search on all institutions for all terms, for bachelors and masters in theology -- again empty. Hits I did get such as a masters and certificate program in management all came up with Regis University. As part of this management search, at the masters level they also pull up Graduate Certificate programs.

Consequently, with all of the institutions listed the distance education offerings are not as widespread as the academic disciplines and the number of schools would indicate in the drop down boxes.
