Anyone has any info on these programs from University of Derby which is offered through Global University Alliance (GUA) ? How reputable is University of Derby ? Has anyone taken any of these programs ? They also offer MBA. is it worth taking one of these programs ? wonder if GUA name appears on any certificates/transcripts ? would appreciate your thoughts on this.
Hi, The University of Derby is a recently-formed UK university from several colleges in the city. Derby is the home of Rolls Royce aero engines, and so is well-known by many. Toyota also have their only UK manufacturing plant near Derby. UOD seems to have set out to offer DL programmes from the start - I researched the BSc in Psychology for someone and it measured up well (however the person eventually went resident rather than DL to the University of London Royal Holloway). My take was that the GUA was more of a marketing approach with a shared credibility aspect, so probably would not appear on any certificate - but I am sure you can ask. I think you can have confidence in any qualification offered by the University of Derby. Cheers, Neil Hynd
