I am currently enrolled in Thompson education Direct's Veterinary Technician degree program. I had considered quitting because the school had changed owners so many times. The program is new and has to be american veterinary medical association accredited before people can get licensed. The program plans to apply for that soon as certain criteria are met. I've also heard that many companies don't like to hire gaduates from schools like this, due to their inadiquate training. This program does require hands on experience at a vet clinic. But many graduates from schools like this can't get jobs because of their training. Has anybody ever gotten a job after graduating from just a school like this?

They've been around for well over 100 years, and apparently have students well into the six figures, so the answer is surely yes. Many responsible schools keep files on graduates willing to talk about their experiences. During the 7 years I was doing marketing for the Edinburgh MBA, we amassed a file of about 250 people willing to be contacted -- by no means all of them wildly enthusiastic. There won't be graduates of this vet program, it seems, but I think they've been doing their veterinary assistant program for a while. If they can't or won't supply this information, you've got a difficult decision. If you spoke to five potential employers saying, "If I did this, would you consider..." that might provide useful information.
