Finsihed up my final exam for credit yesterday, by winding everything up with 6 tests this week. In total, it's 20 tests (63 units) in just about 80 days. It's sort of a meaningless victory at the moment, though, as I'm still waiting on the grades from 4 Dantes, ECE Business Policy, and a TECEP. However, I did pretty well on the tests I've recieved grades for, which gives me high hopes. My tests consisted of every Bussiness requirement for Excelsior, minus the written english requirement, plus Drug and Alchohol Abuse. If anyone would like input on any of these tests, please feel free to PM me or post a question on the board.

Thank you all for your information and support, and thanks to Lawrie who's website first introduced me to the idea. ^_^

Congrats! I hope they don't keep you waiting too long for the grades... waiting is the hardest part.

    What degree will you earn?

General Business. Also going to take the GRE psych come next April and get a second degree (hey, can't go wrong with one $130 test hehe).

  6. Randy,

    Congrats!

I'd love your insight on all the ECE business exams, as those will be coming for me starting in March. Right now I'm still focusing on CLEP and DANTES through the winter.

Regarding the 2nd degree - it's what I'm looking at as well next fall. Do you still have to meet Excelsior's upcoming Information Literacy requirement which goes into effect 1/1?

Please keep us informed as to your progress - it's been a great motivator to me!

    Cheers,
    Mark

That's a good question about the new requirement. I'm honestly not sure how that works if already completing one degree without that requirement...I don't know if I still count as enrolled of Oct 2003, or if it's as if I enrolled anew in 2004. I'm gonna send you a PM listing some thoughts on all the ECE business exams I've taken thus far, hopefully it can be of some help to you.

For a second degree, I imagine one would.

But this just in from Excelsior College to my wife Rosie, who is switching from a BS in Liberal Studies to a BS with a Psychology major:

Well done Randy! I'm curious to know what materials you used to prep for your Business tests? I'm about to embark on a similar path, and you're knocking out so many tests in the period of time gives me a goal to shoot for.

I mostly used the books recommended on BAin4weeks. For me, I found that any of the Barron's Review, Barron's Business Library, or Cliff's Quick Review books always worked well.

On a side note, why did ya'll have to bump this post? =P Since writing it, I found I failed my last test lol.
